Welcome To My New Blog

If I were to guess, you arrived at this blog for one of the following reasons:

1) You know me and/or follow me on some social network and I linked to this post
2) You Google’d my name and arrived here. If you were looking for someone else with the same name, too bad, you got ME
3) You have stalker tendencies and are trying to find more about me
4) You are working on stealing my identity and are trying to gather as much information as possible

Regardless, welcome to my new blog: GrahamRowlands.com. This site is all about ME so if you don’t like it, don’t read it. I am probably going to write some things you don’t agree with or things you don’t necessarily want to read, but remember, nobody is forcing you to read this site. In fact, if you made it this far in this post I am impressed!

The reason I started this blog is sometimes I find things that I feel like writing about, but don’t really have a place to say them. Whether it be talking about a great event I attended or my thoughts on a particular topic, chances are I am writing them here because they don’t fit into my other blogs.

If you are from a PR company and invited me to your event and the blog post ended up here instead of one of my other sites, it is probably because I didn’t think your product was a good fit for my other sites. If you really want to be on my other sites though, I will sell you advertising! Sorry, your free stuff doesn’t pay my mortgage but I still like going to your free events, I’d just prefer to work with you on another level. I promise to deliver!

Unlike many bloggers (For the record: I don’t really consider myself a blogger – I just write using blog software), I write to make a living. I know I may not be the best writer in the world, but I know a thing or two about how websites work and how to get traffic to them. I have been doing this for 8 years now and hope to continue doing so. I quit my job at IBM (the corporate world) about 6 years ago and have no plan on returning. The reason I left is because I started a side business in affiliate marketing and it started to make GREAT MONEY. While they wanted to keep promoting me, I didn’t really feel like sitting back watching my co-workers lose their jobs to people in another country just so IBM shareholders (for the record I am a shareholder but only because I forgot about all the stock options I took while there and realized a few weeks ago) could be happier. While this may sound a little egotistical, it is really my way of saying that I stand behind my abilities and will guarantee any work I do. I will always make sure my customers are HAPPY.

Anyway, if you want to chat about anything on here, definitely hit me up on Twitter. I spend a fair amount of time there. I hope to make this site fun, educational and a window into my life and thoughts.

Thanks for reading,
